About Brandon
The Brandon Michael Lee Foundation was created in honor of our son, Brandon.
Brandon loved the arts and the way it brought people together. Music was always a huge part of BML's life. At 20 years old, BML followed that passion and moved from Chicago to Philadelphia to chase music and build a life around the things he loved.
Music, especially his love for drums, was always a way he connected with people. But it wasn't just music. BML also loved cooking and had deep admiration for a good cup of coffee. He believed the best coffee wasn't found in big corporate chains, but rather in small, local coffee shops where people gathered and built community.
Some of the best memories with Brandon were the simple ones - sitting with him over coffee, sharing a meal he helped cook, bonding over music, or just hearing his infectious laugh. If you knew Brandon, you probably remember him greeting you with his classic, "Hey Buddy!"
Unfortunately, after years of battling serious heart complications and multiple open-heart surgeries, Brandon passed away on April 4, 2024.
So in honor of him, we created The Brandon Michael Lee Foundation, a nonprofit focused on continuing the things Brandon loved most: music, creativity, and community, which we hope will carry on to bring people together. Our mission is to help create opportunities for young people who may not otherwise have access to instruments, music education, creative arts, and life skills such as cooking.
Our hope is that more kids get the chance to discover the same love for the arts that Brandon had. We thank you for helping keep Brandon's legacy alive 🤍.
